Craft in the Bay
This 1st Year Project was for Craft in the Bay. Craft in the Bay is a Gallery in Cardiff Bay run by the makers guild Wales.
The Building is a Grade 2 listed building with history in the Cardiff Port, as it functioned as a warehouse prior to becoming a Gallery.
.
The design focuses on making the space easy to move around, making it child friendly by including a creche and adding an educational space to hold courses. It also incorporates some information about the history of the buiding.

Sustainable Studio
This 1st Year Project was for Sustainable Studio Cardiff.
They offer work spaces - open as well as closed - in Cardiff. The customers of these workspaces often work together and appreciate the community feel.
They want to extend their availabilities and have been offered the second floor of the current building. However the building will be de-constructed in about 5 years time.
My design focuses on the easy construction and deconstruction of the pods. They can easily be constructed in different sizes as well. The by-folding doors offer the opportunity for the customers to use their pods as an open or closed workspace. The blackboard paint on the outside is good for doodling - which helps creativity and memorizing. It is doodling tools to facilitate thinking and "to change your physical and neurological experience, in that moment" says Sunni Brown. - , to individualise your pod or to leave messages to other customers. This helps to keep the community feeling. The desks and some of the seating can be put away onto the walls as they are designed similar to a Murphy style bed. This offers different amounts of space depending on the needs.
Precedent Project
The aim of this 1st Year project was to look at a building project as well as an architect. by the end we had critically re-access our first project.
As a building I chose the Park Royal Hotel in Singapore, designed by WOHA architects.
As an architect I chose Zaha Hadid.
